![]() The price was more reasonable than others in the area, so this should be a consideration when making your hotel choice. The Holiday Inn and Suites Salt Lake City Airport West offers some of the best accommodations in Salt Lake City. Overall, the hotel was perfectly adequate but not anything special. Very oddly, the bathroom door would not stay open, which was most irritating. The wall around the shower was raised, most likely from being waterlogged at one time. There was a chunk missing from the carpet at the door, so it was loose and frayed in that spot. There was definite wear on the furniture the vinyl on the seat of the desk chair was worn right through to the fabric backing. The room itself was pleasant enough, but it was dated and a bit run-down. This was disappointing, but the timing of this maintenance was understandable after a weekend of probably heavy use. When we went on a Monday morning, the spa was out of service because it was being refilled and chemicals replaced. The staff is very pleasant and helpful, which is a definite plus. It is VERY convenient to the interstate, and the trip to downtown is short and fairly direct. It is a very attractive building on its exterior and boasts a really beautiful lobby. I’d probably stay at another hotel next time but I don’t see us returning to SLC. And then we had to go up to level 3 for airline checkin. ![]() It’s interesting that they don’t drop you off at the “departure” area but level 1 for the hotel pickup. We reserved the airport shuttle for 9:30am and he was there waiting for us. I think they are short staffed like everywhere. There was a hole in the bathroom door as if someone punched it. After a total of 30 min the shuttle driver finally came. We called the Holiday Inn again and after 3rd tried, the staff picked up the phone and said he’d call again. He said he saw the shuttle driver in the “waiting parking lot” just sitting there. After 20 min and no shuttle, we stopped another hotel shuttle driver to see if he could take us to his hotel and we’d walk back to the HI. After 9 times of trying and the phone being disconnected, someone finally picked up the phone and said he’d send the shuttle driver. We called the hotel to get the shuttle to take us back to the hotel. Then we took our rental car back to the airport the night before we left. Then the next day, our room keys didn’t work, so we had to go back down and get new keys. We went back down and the front staff was very kind, apologized and gave us vouchers for free breakfast for the 2 days we were there and, of course, gave us a new room. After we checked in and went to our room (at around 7:30pm) housekeeping never cleaned the room from the last guest. ![]()
